Christopher Nolan to Oversee Superman Reboot
Christopher Nolan is a genius, we all know it. And after having resurrecting the Batman franchise, and making The Dark Knight the most successful superhero film of all time, Warner now want Nolan to oversee the reboot of the Superman franchise.
No one really knows what’s going on at this point. Even the Warner execs don’t know where the film will go, but apparently they’re acting like Batman Begins never happened. In the words of an unamed source “We know what we don’t want to do. But we don’t know what we want to do. We learned a lot from the last movie, and we want to get it right this time.”
Nolan will (almost certainly) not be directing or writing the film, but will rather play the role of supreme commander i.e. picking who writes and directs, overseeing the story, filming and production. It’s a tough role, but no doubt Nolan is the kind of guy who can pull it off. I just think it’s pretty incredible that Warner have no given him control of two of the biggest superhero franchises in history.
