Warner Bros announced yesterday that Anne Hathaway has landed a role in the next Batman movie. She will be playing Selina Kyle and her better known alter ego, Catwoman.

The studio also announced that Tom Hardy, whom Nolan directed in Inception, will play one of Batman’s enemies, Bane.

Jonathan Nolan to direct Superman reboot?

After checking my blog stats I can see that there have been a lot of people reading my article on the reboot of Superman which is being headed up by the great Christopher Nolan. The reason for all the interest is, no doubt, the abounding rumours that Jonathan Nolan has been earmarked to take the directors seat for the project.

There have been a couple of confirmations from reputable sources that the rumours are true. In fact pre-development for the film is supposedly underway and a few castings have been done including an audition by Zach Levi (from the show ‘Chuck’).

It won’t be the first time that the brothers have worked together, but this will be the first time that Jonathan has worked from behind the camera. Usually Jonathan writes and Chris directs. But regardless of what happens, with Chris in the mix it’ll be epic.

Christopher Nolan to Oversee Superman Reboot

Christopher Nolan is a genius, we all know it. And after having resurrecting the Batman franchise, and making The Dark Knight the most successful superhero film of all time, Warner now want Nolan to oversee the reboot of the Superman franchise.

No one really knows what’s going on at this point. Even the Warner execs don’t know where the film will go, but apparently they’re acting like Batman Begins never happened. In the words of an unamed source “We know what we don’t want to do. But we don’t know what we want to do. We learned a lot from the last movie, and we want to get it right this time.”

Nolan will (almost certainly) not be directing or writing the film, but will rather play the role of supreme commander i.e. picking who writes and directs, overseeing the story, filming and production. It’s a tough role, but no doubt Nolan is the kind of guy who can pull it off. I just think it’s pretty incredible that Warner have no given him control of two of the biggest superhero franchises in history.

After the Dark Knight we all wondered what Christopher Nolan would do next. Well wonder no longer. He has been working on a new sci-fi thriller called Inception. Due to released next June/July Inception stars Leo DiCaprio. Not a whole lot is known about the plot, but what is known is that it is set at a time when corporations have developed technology to enter peoples’ dreams and extract information. DiCaprio is a CEO who gets caught up in some sort of blackmail plot. As he enters peoples’ dreams things get messy. I know that sounds a bit vague… but check out the teaser trailer here. I’m sure you’ll agree that whatever the storyline is it promises to be epic. Nolan is a genius.
